A judge in California has granted Hallie Biden immunity, enabling her to testify against Hunter Biden in his upcoming criminal tax trial scheduled for next month.

Hallie Biden, who is the widow of Beau Biden and the former spouse of Hunter Biden, previously informed prosecutors of her reluctance to testify at the trial starting September 5 due to her privilege against self-incrimination, as stated in a court document obtained by Fox News.

Hunter Biden faces accusations of neglecting to pay $1.4 million in taxes from 2016 to 2019, in addition to filing fraudulent tax returns. Allegedly, he used the money to live extravagantly, including spending millions on drugs, escorts, luxury cars, and other expensive items.

U.S. District Judge Mark Scarsi wrote earlier this week, “It is ordered… that Hallie Biden provide testimony or other information which she is refusing to give based on her privilege against self-incrimination concerning all matters she may be questioned about during these proceedings.”

“It is further directed that any testimony or information compelled under this order, or any information derived from such testimony, shall not be used against Hallie Biden in any criminal case, except for prosecution based on perjury, false statements, or non-compliance with this order,” he continued.

Earlier this year, Hallie Biden provided testimony against Hunter under the same immunity agreement during his federal gun trial in Delaware, as reported by the Washington Examiner.

The trial was originally set to start on June 20, but Judge Scarsi, in charge of the case, approved Hunter Biden’s request to postpone it.
