Jake Jarman from Team GB has secured a bronze medal in the men’s floor final, following Bryony Page’s gold in trampolining just a day earlier.
The 22-year-old gymnast delivered an impressive performance, culminating in a triple-twisting double-back somersault, landing him a spot on the podium despite one competitor left to compete.
Teammate Luke Whitehouse followed and appeared poised to surpass Jarman’s score, but disappointment struck as judges lowered his difficulty rating, placing him in sixth with a score of 14.466.
Having entered the final as the highest qualifier and leading the floor standings during the men’s all-around final, Jarman was optimistic.
Ultimately, his routine was not as flawless as gold medalist Carlos Edriel Yulo of the Philippines, who scored 15.001, while Artem Dolgopyat from Israel took silver, leaving Jarman just behind with 14.933.
