Team GB’s Samuel Reardon, Laviai Nielsen, Alex Haydock-Wilson, and Amber Anning secured a bronze medal in the mixed 4x400m relay final at the Paris Olympics.

They were narrowly beaten for gold by the Netherlands, with Femke Bol pulling ahead in a thrilling finish.

Team USA placed second, while Anning of Team GB warded off a late challenge from Belgium to maintain the bronze position.

The British team started strong, with Reardon and Nielsen pushing ahead to join the front runners.

Haydock-Wilson raced at full speed before passing the baton to Anning, who concluded a superb outing for the GB squad.

With this outcome, Team GB has now amassed 32 medals this week—12 bronze, 10 silver, and 10 gold—marking one of the most successful starts for Britain at the Olympics.
