Fulham has secured the services of Spanish defender Jorge Cuenca from Villarreal for a transfer fee that remains undisclosed.
The 24-year-old has signed a four-year deal at Craven Cottage, with an option for the club to extend his contract by an additional year.
Cuenca, who has represented Spain at the under-21 level, began his professional football journey at Alcorcon before moving to Barcelona and then Villarreal.
Last season, he made 37 appearances for the Yellow Submarine, contributing to their eighth-place finish in La Liga and their progress to the last 16 of the Europa League.
Additionally, the Cottagers finalized a club-record signing of Arsenal midfielder Emile Smith Rowe on Friday for an upfront fee of £27 million.
This summer has also seen Ryan Sessegnon return to Fulham on a two-year contract following the expiration of his agreement with Tottenham.
Moreover, the west London club is actively pursuing a deal for Manchester United midfielder Scott McTominay, having submitted a second offer estimated at £20 million for the 27-year-old Scotland international.
