Senator Mark Kelly, D-Ariz., who is considered a leading contender for Vice President Harris’ running mate in the upcoming 2024 election, sent a mysterious message on social media amidst speculation about the vice presidential selection.
“From my time in the Navy and at NASA, to serving in the United States Senate and visiting our troops abroad: I’ve learned that when your country asks you to serve, you always answer the call,” Kelly shared on X on Sunday.
Harris met with potential vice presidential candidates on Sunday, as it is believed that the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee is just a day or two away from finalizing a decision about her running mate.
On the list of potential candidates are Governors Josh Shapiro of Pennsylvania and Tim Walz of Minnesota, in addition to Kelly. Sources also mention Governors Andy Beshear of Kentucky and JB Pritzker of Illinois, along with Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg as contenders.

The comments continued to pour in as users allowed their imaginations to soar.

Nevertheless, some users were even more puzzled when they came across a screenshot of a post from Kelly that was deleted shortly after it was shared.
The original post stated, “My background is quite different from most politicians. I dedicated my life to serving in the Navy and at NASA, where the mission was my top priority. Now, my mission is to serve the people of Arizona.”
