‘Potter could not have done more’

Annie Emmerson, Former Team GB triathlete, speaking on BBC:

I truly believe Beth Potter gave her all; however, her fatigue from clinching the bronze in the individual event took its toll. You could see her exhaustion as she crossed the line.

SILVER for Team GB

Great Britain secures the silver!

Beth Potter’s final surge was enough to push the USA down to third, delivering an astonishing finish.

While it’s not the gold achieved in Tokyo, this silver medal is a testament to their effort.

Alex Yee and Beth Potter can now add a relay medal to their individual accolades.

Additionally, Sam Dickinson claims his first Olympic medal and Georgia Taylor-Brown secures her first medal of these Games.

What an exhilarating start to the day!

Germany grabs GOLD in mixed triathlon

Laura Lindemann is making a significant move, sprinting away with remarkable speed.

However, wait – Beth Potter seems to find a second wind as she catches up, leveling with Taylor Knibb.

They are in a sprint along the straight, it’s an incredible sight.

Germany clinches the gold, but who grabs the silver? Both GB and the USA finish neck and neck, leading into a photo finish.

Beth Potter collapses to the ground, embodying her struggle – she left it all out there. What a phenomenal finish!

Yet another medal for Great Britain.

USA leads into final lap

Oh no, it appears Beth Potter is now in third place.

I mentioned she appeared fatigued and now, heading into the final lap, she is being overtaken by both Taylor Knibb and Laura Lindemann.

Can she catch up? She’s known for her fast finishes.

They haven’t completely dropped her yet, but time is running out.

Potter’s transition maintains GB’s lead

What a thrilling few moments we are witnessing in the mixed triathlon.

Beth Potter’s lead shrank from 12 seconds as both Taylor Knibb of the USA and Germany’s Laura Lindemann overtook her.

Yet, her transition from bike to run was exceptional, allowing her to reclaim the lead by a narrow margin.

Potter is an incredible runner, but she does seem to be feeling the effects.

GB currently leads the mixed triathlon

This day could start with a golden victory for Team GB.

Currently, Great Britain is in the lead in the mixed triathlon relay with Beth Potter excelling on the final leg.

The bronze medalist from the individual event has surged ahead on the bike, creating a significant gap between her and second-placed Taylor Knibb from the USA.

It looks like Gold number 11 might be within reach now.
