Jordan Addison, a wide receiver for the Minnesota Vikings, faces two misdemeanor charges following his recent arrest in Los Angeles on DUI suspicions.
Addison, who was drafted in the first round of last year’s NFL Draft, was apprehended shortly after 11 PM on July 12 while found asleep in his vehicle, which impeded access to a major freeway off-ramp leading to LA International Airport.
Approximately 30 minutes later, California Highway Patrol officers took the 22-year-old into custody following a DUI inquiry.
He was released just after 1:30 AM on Saturday morning, according to reports.
The Star Tribune in Minnesota has now reported that Addison is facing two misdemeanor charges stemming from last month’s incident.

Jordan Addison, wide receiver for the Minnesota Vikings, charged with two misdemeanors after his DUI arrest in Los Angeles last month.
If found guilty, he could face up to six months in jail along with fines that may reach $2,000, in addition to a potential suspension of driving privileges for six months.
Moreover, Addison may also confront a suspension from the NFL.
According to the NFL’s substance abuse policy, players receive a three-game suspension for a first alcohol-related offense.
In July of the previous year, before his rookie season, Addison was cited in Minnesota for speeding and reckless driving when he was clocked at nearly 140 mph.
However, he was not charged with any alcohol or drug-related violations in that specific case, which may work in his favor in this situation.
After being picked 23rd overall in the 2023 NFL Draft, Addison recorded 70 receptions for 911 yards and 10 touchdowns last season, earning a spot on the NFL All-Rookie team.

The Vikings commented at the time of his arrest last month, stating, ‘We are aware of Jordan Addison’s arrest this past Friday and are currently gathering more information regarding the incident.’
Eight days prior to Addison’s arrest, Vikings rookie cornerback Khyree Jackson tragically lost his life in a car crash in Maryland at the age of 24.
Addison had previously urged fans to recognize Jackson’s skills before his untimely passing, expressing confidence in his future contributions to the team.
When asked which player fans should keep an eye on for the 2024-25 season, Addison emphasized: ‘Khyree, the cornerback we just got. Don’t sleep on him.’
