Serena Williams has publicly lashed out at a five-star hotel in Paris for refusing her family entry to a rooftop restaurant, even though it was completely vacant.
The 23-time Grand Slam champion used social media to share her frustrations regarding the incident at The Peninsula Hotel, expressing her dissatisfaction with how the situation unfolded.
‘Yikes,’ Williams tweeted. ‘@peninsulaparis I was turned away from the rooftop despite there being an empty restaurant — I’ve had better experiences elsewhere but never been denied with my kids. There’s always a first for everything.’
She also included a photo of the hotel’s sign to ensure her followers knew which place she was referencing.
In response, The Peninsula Hotel conveyed their regrets for the incident via social media, stating: ‘Dear Mrs. Williams, please accept our sincerest apologies for the disappointment you faced this evening.’

Serena Williams and her daughter, Olympia, were denied access to hotel in Paris on Monday

The five-star rated Paris Peninsula hotel later apologized to the tennis legend on social media
‘Unfortunately, our rooftop bar was indeed fully booked and the only unoccupied tables you saw belonged to our gourmet restaurant, L’Oiseau Blanc, which was fully reserved.’
‘We are always honored to welcome you and look forward to doing so again. The Peninsula Paris.’
Fans of Williams were quick to criticize the hotel for denying her entry, with one user questioning: ‘How does one get denied when they are Serena Williams…… lol’
‘Glad you didn’t have to waste money there,’ remarked another supporter.
‘You’re better off not going, their food is subpar — I’ve unfortunately had to pay for it quite a few times,’ stated yet another.
Williams has been spotted at various Olympic events in Paris with her six-year-old daughter, Olympia.

‘From being part of an incredible Opening Ceremony at the Paris Olympics-to sailing in the boat amidst pouring rain — so much so that my lashes came right off,’ she humorously noted on X.
In addition to her Grand Slam titles, Williams proudly holds four Olympic gold medals, which includes victories in both singles and doubles at the London 2012 Games.
