West Ham has finalized the transfer of German striker Niclas Füllkrug from Borussia Dortmund.
Füllkrug has signed a four-year deal at the London Stadium for a sum believed to be around £27 million, marking him as the fifth signing of the summer under new West Ham manager Julen Lopetegui.
“I am thrilled to be here and am eager to join my new teammates on the pitch,” said the 31-year-old forward.
“I truly believe the Premier League is the top league globally. It feels like the perfect moment for me to head to England and play for a prestigious club like West Ham.
“I have been considering West Ham for quite some time – I know technical director Tim Steidten well from our days at Werder Bremen. I’ve followed a few matches and am impressed by the quality within the squad.
“I’m also excited about the opportunity to work with the head coach. His style of play resonates with me, and I’m confident that under his guidance, I can showcase my skills and score plenty of goals.
“I thrive on the connection with fans, and I genuinely look forward to meeting the West Ham supporters. I’m feeling great right now – strong, fit, and ready to hit the ground running for them.”
Füllkrug netted 16 goals in 46 appearances for Dortmund last season, playing a crucial role in their journey to the Champions League final, where they fell short against Real Madrid.
