Caicedo expressed gratitude towards a performance coach and his former manager Pochettino for helping him regain his focus.
“Many individuals around me played a role – Mauricio and his staff. They supported me during times when I felt disconnected from the Moises I used to be,” he remarked.
“[I reached out to them] and said, ‘Please assist me because I want to display my talent, my football.’ They stood by me. Additionally, there’s someone outside of the club who significantly helped me alleviate the pressure from my mind.
“A person I converse with frequently told me, ‘Moises, you are a talented player, capable of anything on the pitch, but with responsibility. Just believe in yourself. If Chelsea invested that [amount] in you, it’s because you are an exceptional player.’
New head coach Enzo Maresca has started to make an impact at Chelsea, and Caicedo commented on the former Leicester City manager: “He employs a system similar to what I used at Brighton. He desires the same approach.
“He wants me to exhibit my skills, demonstrate strong personality, and convey to my teammates that I am a leader on the field.”
Liverpool finalized a £111m agreement with Brighton for Caicedo before he opted to sign with Chelsea, a decision influenced by the Blues’ persistent interest.
“Chelsea stood by me for several months. I could not let that opportunity slip away. They were there for me during challenging moments when Brighton was reluctant to allow my transfer,” Caicedo shared.
“It was a tough choice, but certainly, without a doubt, I knew I wanted to join Chelsea.”
Chelsea will face Real Madrid in their concluding US tour match in Charlotte on Tuesday evening (00:00 BST Wednesday) before returning to face Inter Milan at Stamford Bridge on Sunday.
