Dru Hammer, mother of Armie Hammer, is addressing the serious allegations of sexual abuse and cannibalistic fantasies that have significantly affected her son’s Hollywood career.
In a discussion with Fox News Digital, Dru reflected on the events leading to Armie’s decline after releasing her memoir, “Hammered.” She expressed her gratitude for Armie’s journey toward sobriety and his reconnection with faith.
Dru described Armie as the “most fabulous son in the world,” adding that she is proud to have two wonderful sons, Armie and Viktor, from her marriage to Michael Armand Hammer.
“But Armie experienced a significant incident at 14, which led to a downward spiral,” she shared.

“He was such a joy and had a kind heart,” Dru recalled. “Whenever I visited a set, people would say, ‘Your son is the nicest person we’ve ever worked with.’ But everyone faces challenges; his began at 14, and I feel responsible.”
Armie spoke publicly about the allegations during a February interview with Air Mail, revealing that he had been sexually abused by a youth pastor in his youth, which he believes led to his interest in BDSM.
“When your child faces inappropriate situations, one must be proactive,” Dru reflected. “I wish I had sought marriage counseling, especially given that my ex-husband was also abused. I’ve learned a lot and hope to use that knowledge to help others.”
“He was truly a joy,” she reminisced about Armie’s childhood. “However, entering Hollywood led him to self-medicate with drugs and alcohol. I’m thankful he’s almost four years sober and is slowly reconnecting with Jesus.”
“I’ve prayed for him for 23 years, proving God answers prayers, but not always on our timeline.

After gaining recognition in the 2010 film “The Social Network,” Armie landed notable roles in films like the 2017 romantic drama “Call Me By Your Name,” which earned him a Golden Globe nomination.
However, his life took a dark turn in 2020 when his wife, Elizabeth Chambers, filed for divorce, claiming irreconcilable differences. Shortly after, several women came forward with shocking allegations of sexual violence.
The first allegation came from an anonymous Instagram account, House of Effie. Unverified messages allegedly showed messages from Hammer to an unidentified woman that detailed violent sexual fantasies, including claims of cannibalism. Armie described these claims as “vicious and spurious online attacks against me.”
“I’m so thankful that today he’s nearly four years sober, and he is taking steps towards Jesus.”
Additionally, Paige Lorenze, a former girlfriend, claimed Armie expressed desires to smoke and eat her ribs, which she found disturbing.
“He spoke about consulting a doctor to remove ribs he believed weren’t necessary — the lower ones — to smoke and eat them. He was curious about how they’d taste, stating he thought they’d be delicious,” Lorenze explained to Fox News Digital.
Two other women also shared distressing stories, and one accused Armie of rape, claiming the incident happened in a Los Angeles hotel room in 2017. Armie firmly denied all allegations at that time.
In 2023, the Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office concluded that Armie would not face charges related to these claims.

In his conversation with Air Mail, Hammer reiterated his denial of any criminal actions, stating that all his encounters were consensual, albeit he acknowledged having emotionally harmed some partners.
During her chat with Fox News Digital, Dru elaborated on her initial reactions to the allegations against her son.
“You see, most of these girls were in my home,” she recounted. “One spent Thanksgiving here; they were genuinely in love with my son. Armie takes full accountability. He insists, ‘I never abused anyone; it was entirely consensual.'”
Dru remarked that the girls, enamored by Armie, viewed him as Mr. Right while he was merely seeking comfort during a vulnerable period, still separated but not fully divorced.

“When I read that my son was labeled a cannibal, I called him and asked, ‘Armie, are there any girls missing limbs? Am I missing something here?'” she laughed.

“It was so outrageous that he would even entertain those notions,” Dru remarked. “I realized there were texts circulating, but I told Armie I needed to temper my remarks. I’ve approached babies, saying, ‘You’re so cute; I could eat you up,’ but that doesn’t mean I’m consuming infants.”
“He undoubtedly went through a dark period. I always maintain that he was exonerated from any criminal actions, though morally, he was wrong. And as a praying mother, I told him, ‘Armie, neither of my sons stands a chance because I pray for you every day.'”
“My priority is that my sons lead lives of integrity and honor God,” Dru emphasized. “And I see that happening, part of my book reveals how honored I feel to witness our family’s restoration process.”

A significant aspect of this reconciliation involved Dru mending her relationship with Elizabeth Chambers. Armie and Chambers share two children, Harper, 9, and Ford, 7, and were married in 2010, finalizing their divorce in 2023.
In a July interview on “Piers Morgan Uncensored,” Armie confessed to Chambers about his infidelity during their marriage, stating it was a key reason for their separation.
“My focus is that both my sons live righteously and serve God. I’m witnessing that unfold.”
During an appearance on “The Outlier Podcast” in July, Dru expressed her call with Chambers where she emphasized, “The divorce is finalized, and I want to let go of grudges; I love and forgive you for any hurt caused to Armie because I know you’ve experienced pain yourself. I ask for your forgiveness too if I’ve hurt you in any way.”

“I understand Elizabeth must have had to forgive me too,” Dru stated. “Our strong connection is vital because she brought my wonderful grandchildren into the world. I empathize with the pain caused by infidelity in marriage; I’ve experienced it firsthand.”
“I seldom discussed it,” she added. “I confided in very few friends about it until the very end, and only a select few friends knew. The central theme of my book revolves around forgiveness, urging others to prevent bitterness from taking root in their hearts.”
“Jesus said, ‘You will encounter trials and tribulations, but I’ve conquered the world.’ He offers us life abundantly. I aspire to share that message,” Dru expressed.
