During the Paris Olympics, Sweden’s Mondo Duplantis set a new pole vault world record on Monday, soaring over the bar at 6.25 meters to secure the gold medal.
Immediately after his victory, Duplantis ran toward his personal cheer squad and shared a kiss with his girlfriend, model Desiré Inglander, before celebrating with friends. The kiss quickly went viral on social media.

“He’s him,” she commented in an Instagram post.
Inglander shared various photos from the Paris Olympics. She previously featured in Vogue Scandinavia about two months ago as well as in campaigns for brands like Lancôme.
Duplantis and Inglander reportedly first met in Stockholm back in 2020, although the social media influencer initially showed no interest, as noted by Us Weekly.

“The challenge was, flirting in Sweden differs greatly from where I come from,” Duplantis shared with Vogue Scandinavia. “(In my hometown) there’s often lengthier conversation – you engage in dialogue for a while. At the party, I attempted to strike up a conversation with Desiré, saying, ‘Hey, I’m Mondo…’ but she didn’t seem interested and just wanted to dance.”

Duplantis remained optimistic, and the couple became at least Instagram official in 2021.
The pole vaulter hails from Louisiana but competes for Sweden due to his mother’s nationality. He has now earned two Olympic gold medals.

“Honestly, it’s difficult to comprehend,” Duplantis shared. “If I never surpass this achievement in my career, I’ll be perfectly content. I don’t believe you can top what just occurred.”
