A viral video has emerged featuring Thierry Henry dancing in France’s locker room at the Parc Olympique Lyonnais after their semi-final victory over Egypt on Monday.

Since August 2023, Henry has been overseeing the France U21 squad, but he had the esteemed privilege of leading the men’s team during this summer’s Olympic Games.

France started flawlessly in the tournament with four consecutive wins against the USA, Guinea, New Zealand, and Argentina.

However, the match against Egypt proved to be a challenge as France required an equalizer from Crystal Palace’s Jean-Philippe Mateta in the 82nd minute to push the game into extra time.

Les Bleus ultimately succeeded with a 3-1 victory after extra time, which included another goal from Mateta and a strike from former teammate Michael Olise.

Following this thrilling win, the French squad celebrated in front of their fans on the pitch before carrying the festivities indoors.

A video taken by Lyon’s Rayan Cherki showcased Henry walking into a lively dressing room, where he was prompted to dance.

Though the 46-year-old, a former star at Arsenal and Barcelona, might not have displayed the same finesse in his dance moves as in his playing days, his enthusiasm won over the players.

The players erupted with cheers as Henry danced, and Cherki captioned the video with the phrase: ‘Paris on arrive.’

Next, France will compete against Spain at the Parc des Princes in Paris on Friday for the gold medal, while Egypt will face Morocco for bronze on Thursday.

Men’s football at the Olympics is designated for U23 players, allowing each team to include three overage players.

For France, these players are 24-year-old Sevilla defender Loic Bade, 33-year-old Lyon striker Alexandre Lacazette, and 27-year-old Mateta.
