The organization responsible for providing meals to thousands of athletes at the Paris Olympic Village has responded to accusations of serving fish infested with worms, firmly denying any claims of inadequate standards.
Earlier this month, Team GB swimmer Adam Peaty voiced concerns over the food quality and selection, stating he was aware of fellow competitors who reported finding ‘worms in the fish.’
However, no photographic evidence has been presented to back up Peaty’s assertions.
In response, a committee representing ‘Sodexo Live!’ has dismissed any questions regarding the food safety provided to the athletes.
‘There has been no substantiation of these claims, which are quite serious,’ the committee stated to TMZ Sports.

‘No credible information has been provided to validate this sensational claim.’
The organization further stated that they did not receive any complaints from Team GB athletes.
‘The menu featuring 550 dishes was developed in collaboration with the National Olympic Committees (NOCs) and the IOC over the course of more than a year,’ the Olympic Committee told TMZ Sports, addressing the controversy.
‘We consistently take athlete feedback very seriously. Paris 2024 continues to work closely with nutritionists from the National Olympic Committees and is ready to make additional adjustments to the food service as necessary.’
Sodexo Live! was appointed as the official catering partner for the 2024 Olympics in March 2022.
According to the organization, approximately 40,000 meals are prepared daily for the 15,000 athletes competing in both the Olympic and Paralympic Games in Paris.

Italian swimmer Thomas Ceccon also expressed concerns about the temperatures at the Village
Snacks and additional foods are also available for fans at competition venues.
Meanwhile, the organizers of Paris 2024 are also facing criticism over the cleaning of the River Seine ahead of the mixed triathlon at the Olympics.
Belgian triathlete Jolien Vermeylen stated that she ‘saw things’ during the women’s triathlon that she ‘didn’t want to think about.’
Gold medalist Thomas Ceccon from Italy was also spotted resting in a park in Paris after raising concerns about the lack of air conditioning and quiet in the Olympic Village, amid reports of crowded common bathrooms and ‘back-breaking’ beds.
