- IShowSpeed has garnered a social media following of tens of millions.
Polish Olympic sprinter Ewa Swoboda has issued a challenge to IShowSpeed, reacting to the YouTuber’s claim that ‘nobody in the world’ could defeat him in a race.
The 27-year-old’s individual Olympic aspirations ended at the semi-final of the women’s 100m, where she finished fourth with a time of 11.08 seconds.
Swoboda, a two-time European Championship medallist, also secured a silver medal in the 60m at the recent world indoor championships in Glasgow. Her personal best in the 100m outdoors stands at 10.94 seconds.
Contrarily, Speed, whose real name is Darren Watkins Jr., boasted to his followers on a recent livestream that he would easily outrun her. He humorously remarked that he’d rather get Swoboda’s contact information but doubled down by claiming ‘nobody in the world’ could beat him.
‘I’m being serious,’ he stated. ‘I’ve never lost a race in my life. That’s why people call me Speed.’

In light of the social media star’s remarks, Swoboda encouraged Speed to race her if he visits her country, although she acknowledged that the likelihood of it happening is slim, as Speed just concluded a lengthy trip in Europe.
‘I called my parents to share my excitement about my new tattoo,’ she mentioned. ‘I got the Olympic rings, and they told me, “Oh my god Ewa, did you hear that a YouTuber just challenged you?”
‘Well, if he comes to Poland and takes part in the RMF FM radio contest, maybe I will run with him. But he has already been to Poland, so the chances are low.’
The event in question is set for later this month on August 24, but Speed has yet to respond to her challenge.
Swoboda’s remarks come just after the American was banned from YouTube for allegedly breaking Community Guidelines during a livestream. Speed had streamed himself jumping over two speeding luxury cars—a Lamborghini and a McLaren—to his more than 27 million followers.

‘Hey guys, if y’all are watching this right now, I’m banned on YouTube on my main channel,’ he informed his followers after the ban. ‘I can’t stream or do anything, guys. I just wanted to let you all know. I appreciate you.’
