Bill Gates, the Microsoft co-founder, reportedly became interested in the late Jeffrey Epstein, a convicted pedophile, primarily because he believed Epstein could assist him in obtaining a Nobel Peace Prize, as outlined in a recent publication.
In “Billionaire, Nerd, Savior, King: Bill Gates and His Quest to Shape Our World,” author Anupreeta Das, who serves as the finance editor for the New York Times, reveals that Gates had fixated on winning the prestigious award and thought Epstein could be instrumental in this pursuit.
According to a report by the New York Post about Das’ book, Epstein, who pleaded guilty to charges related to underage girls in 2008, began engaging with Gates in 2010 with the intent to improve his tarnished reputation.
Epstein conveyed to a staff member at the Gates Foundation his capability to connect the tech billionaire with influential figures within the Nobel Prize community.

Years later, Gates, Epstein, and Norwegian diplomat Terje Rod-Larsen traveled to France for a meeting with Thorbjorn Jagland, the chair of the Nobel committee, as noted by Das.
However, the meeting in 2013 did not advance Gates’ goal, and in 2020, Rod-Larsen resigned from the International Peace Institute due to his connections with Epstein.
In a 2021 interview with CNN, Gates described his encounters with Epstein as a “huge mistake.”
A spokesperson for Gates criticized aspects of the book, stating, “The book includes highly sensationalized allegations and outright falsehoods that ignore the actual documented facts our office provided to the author on numerous occasions,” according to The Post.

A spokesperson for Gates, age 68, mentioned that he regretted his connections to Epstein and emphasized that their relationship was focused on philanthropy, not personal pursuits.
Gates’ ex-wife, Melinda Gates, expressed her concerns regarding his interactions with the notorious figure, stating that she met Epstein once and deemed him to be “evil personified” in a 2021 interview.
The unauthorized biography further mentions that Gates often displayed flirtatious behavior toward female employees at Microsoft.
Das writes that Gates would “flirt with women and pursue them,” making inappropriate advances, such as inviting a Microsoft employee to dinner while still serving as the company’s chairman.
