President Biden expressed that he is “not confident at all” regarding a peaceful transfer of power if former President Trump loses in the upcoming election.
During his first interview since stepping away from the 2024 race, Biden spoke with CBS News and was asked if he felt assured about a smooth transition post the Capitol Hill riots of January 6, 2020.
“If Trump loses, I’m not confident at all,” Biden conveyed to CBS’ Robert Costa in the preview clip, having mistakenly mentioned he wouldn’t be confident “if Trump wins.”

“He means what he says. We don’t take him lightly. He means it. All this talk about there being a bloodbath if we lose,” Biden remarked. “Look at what they’re attempting currently. In local election districts, they are placing certain individuals in states where they’ll be responsible for counting the votes. You can’t support your country solely when you win.”
Biden’s reference to “bloodbath” referred to comments made by Trump earlier this year, where he told attendees at a rally that the country could witness an economic “bloodbath” if Democratic policies continued to affect the auto sector.
The complete interview is slated to be aired this Sunday on “CBS Sunday Morning.”
