Chelsea have finalized the acquisition of Boca Juniors defender Aaron Anselmino in a deal worth £15.6m.
The 19-year-old has agreed to a seven-year contract at Stamford Bridge but will remain loaned at the Argentine club for the upcoming 2024-25 season as part of the arrangement.
He made his first appearance for Boca in June 2023 and has since played 10 matches in total.
Anselmino extended his contract in January 2024, securing his commitment to the club until 2028.
Chelsea have been proactive in the transfer market this summer, bringing in Tosin Adarabioyo, Estevao Willian, Omari Kellyman, Filip Jorgensen, Marc Guiu, and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall.
The club has recouped approximately £90m through the sales of Ian Maatsen, Lewis Hall, and Omari Hutchinson, while Conor Gallagher is anticipated to join Atletico Madrid.
The Blues are actively seeking a striker and are interested in Atletico Madrid forward Samu Omorodion.
Chelsea will kick off their 2024-25 Premier League season against reigning champions Manchester City on August 18.
